05 Aug Grand Prize Honorable Mention | 2021 Nonprofit Communications Campaign of the Year
Campaign Video: Cece and her parents, Kristin and Jordan, were at the center of our storytelling campaign in 2020, when the pandemic created medical crisis on top of medical crisis for families like theirs.
‘Steady Through The Storm’ Earns Grand Prize Honorable Mention
RMHC Bay Area’s comprehensive storytelling campaign highlights family resiliency and the power of community
Our small-but-mighty marketing team of two executed cross-channel content aimed at inspiring enough support to help RMHC Bay Area overcome a projected $1.4M shortfall in 2020 due to the pandemic, which forced the cancelation of all events. The organization’s efforts were awarded honorable mention for Nonprofit Daily’s 2021 Grand Prize: Nonprofit Communications Campaign of the Year.
By focusing on storytelling and impact reporting, our marketing team increased the frequency of social media posts by 89% and emails by 150%. We tested out webinars and virtual events. We engaged more families and community members in our stories. Our board of directors stepped up big, launching the Give for Kids Challenge and raising $850,000. All of our storytelling efforts combined, RMHC Bay Area inspired 763 new donors to give and existing donors increased the size of their gifts by 35% — that equates to $140,000 in additional funds when families like Cece’s were coping with medical crisis on top of a global pandemic.
We’re so grateful to all of the families who shared their stories with us in 2020. You share heavily in this award.
