Ronald McDonald Family Room San Francisco

Providing a space to recharge, essential care items, meals, & support steps away from patient care

Our first Ronald McDonald House program in San Francisco was established in January 1989 with our House on Scott Street. Today, we operate inside UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital at Mission Bay, providing in-hospital programming such as a Family Room, quiet lounges, Feed the Love meals, Happy Wheels hospitality cart, and curated family activities just steps away from patient care.

Families are welcomed by trained RMHC Bay Area staff and volunteers.

Happy Wheels

Families at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Mission Bay, including siblings, often wait long hours or even days without leaving the hospital or their child’s bedside. Our Happy Wheels hospitality cart moves throughout the hospital offering refreshments and snacks, toiletries, and age-appropriate toys to patients, siblings, and their families.
