Remembering Tad Taube’s Legacy

Headshot of Tad Taube

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Tad Taube, a visionary philanthropist, beloved friend, and one of Ronald McDonald House Charities Bay Area’s greatest champions.

Tad, who passed away on September 13, 2025, at the age of 94, leaves behind a profound legacy of generosity and impact. As chairman of Taube Philanthropies and board president emeritus of the Koret Foundation, Tad dedicated his life to strengthening communities through transformative giving.

His support for RMHC Bay Area began in the 1990s and continues to touch countless lives today. His namesake, The Taube Family Center at Ronald McDonald House at Stanford, stands as a daily reminder of his vision and commitment to families with critically ill children—providing them comfort, care, and community when they need it most.

“Tad Taube’s name graces one of our two buildings at RMH Stanford, and while our families don’t necessarily know the name Tad Taube, the building’s name is part of our everyday language. When a family says, “I’m heading to Taube,” they mean they’re heading home.”

On behalf of our board, staff, and the families we serve, we extend our deepest condolences to Tad’s beloved wife, Dianne, and his children, Mark, Paula, Sean, Juddson, Travis, and Zakary. We join so many others in honoring his extraordinary life and celebrating the enduring legacy he leaves behind.
