Palo Alto, CA – January 09, 2026 – Ronald McDonald House Charities® Bay Area (RMHC Bay Area) today announced the election of new members to its Board of Directors, welcoming a distinguished group of leaders whose expertise spans healthcare innovation, marketing, psychology, technology, and community-based business leadership. These new board members will help guide the organization’s growth and long-term sustainability while advancing its mission to remove barriers to health care, strengthen families, and help families heal together with the comprehensive support of Ronald McDonald House and Family Room programs across the Bay Area.
RMHC Bay Area supports families with critically ill children by providing essential programs that ensure families stay close to the care their children need—at a time when it matters most. The newly elected board members bring deep professional experience, strong community ties, and a shared commitment to improving health outcomes for children and families.

Newly Elected Board Members

Adrienne Sussman Bhatt, PhD
Adrienne Sussman Bhatt brings a background in psychology and user experience research, with prior roles at Google and the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative. Her expertise in human-centered design and behavioral science offers valuable insight into how RMHC Bay Area can continue to deliver compassionate, family-centered programs. A Bay Area resident and parent, Sussman is deeply motivated by RMHC Bay Area’s mission to support children and families during medical crises.

Joseph Wong ![]()
Joseph Wong is a second-generation McDonald’s Owner/Operator serving Oakland and the broader East Bay. A longstanding supporter of RMHC Bay Area, Wong has been an active member of the McDonald’s Owner/Operator Advisory Committee, championing initiatives such as Round-Up and strengthening the partnership between local McDonald’s restaurants and RMHC Bay Area. He has also served on the Contra Costa College Foundation Board since 2022, helping support students through fundraising and educational initiatives. His experience in operations, philanthropy, and community engagement brings invaluable perspective to the board.

Kenny Moore
Kenny Moore is Head of Marketing Innovation at The Clorox Company, where he leads enterprise growth and innovation strategy. With a 20-year career focused on building trusted, iconic brands and engaging consumers with purpose-driven storytelling, Moore brings strategic marketing expertise that will support RMHC Bay Area’s visibility, fundraising, and long-term growth. He lives and works in the East Bay with his family.

Michael Herring
Michael Herring is Chief Financial Officer at Viz.ai, a healthcare-focused artificial intelligence company. His professional background in finance and healthcare innovation, combined with a longstanding personal connection to RMHC Bay Area’s mission, equips him to help guide the organization’s financial stewardship and strategic direction. Herring is based in San Francisco.
