May 11 – Overnight staff are vital at #RMHCBayArea. They make it possible to provide quality services to families around the clock. América, Overnight Data Coordinator works both behind the scenes on our development team and on the frontlines to ensure the safety of all our families at the Stanford House. Join us in thanking all our overnight staff who work tirelessly through the night to keep families safe!
Sept 10 – “This game meant a lot to us because not only do we admire [my niece’s] strength but sharing moments like these means so much and are truly unforgettable.” — América Martinez, Manager, In-Hospital Programs
América, our In-Hospital Programs Manager, was inspired to join the #RMHCBayArea team because of her niece Maya’s battle with childhood cancer. América knows first-hand how important support is for families in medical crisis. Thanks to the San Francisco Giants América took Maya to her FIRST baseball game as part of #FightAgainstChildhoodCancerDay at Oracle Park.
“The smile on her face was everything,” said America, adding that Maya is a huge sports fan. “From spending nights, months, years, and holidays in the hospital, any outings or fun events outside the hospital were all we as a family ever wished for Maya to experience.”
On behalf of #RMHCBayArea, América shares, “Thank you SF Giants, for bringing awareness to childhood cancer; thank you for supporting the fighters, admiring the survivors, honoring the taken, and spreading love to all children and families!”
