18 Jan Holiday Toy Shops Bring Comfort & Joy to RMHC Bay Area Families
Thanks to our community’s unwavering support, we were able to set up multiple toy shops and continue our mission of bringing Comfort & Joy to RMHC Bay Area families facing childhood illness.
We hosted six wonderful Toy Shops, including at our Stanford and Oakland Houses, and for the second consecutive year, four Toy Shops in and near our partner hospital at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital San Francisco, and satellite locations in Walnut Creek, San Ramon, and Brentwood. With help from generous donors, dedicated staff, and eager volunteers, we joyfully distributed over 7,500 toys to families with sick children.
Our holiday helpers at RMH Stanford and Oakland House sprinkled comfort and cheer to countless resident families and children. Notably, this was the inaugural year of our Toy Shop nestled within our Oakland House, adding a touch of magic to the festivities!
More holiday warmth at our Oakland House 💝! Our merry team is turning the toy shop into a haven for families navigating the holidays while having a sick child. Incredible support flowed in as we received 7,749 toys and essential care items valued at an estimated $76,988 from 250 different groups and businesses. The holidays can be a trying time for our families, away from home and loved ones. The support this time of year also ensures our Bay Area locations are stocked with essential care items throughout the year.
Thanks to your kindness, the holidays became one less financial burden for our families. Your impactful contributions have made a difference, and we express our heartfelt gratitude.
