RMHC Core Programs
RMHC Bay Area creates comprehensive programs and services to families uprooted by pediatric medical crises through our:
123-room House at Stanford
(partner hospital: Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Stanford)
11-room Ronald McDonald House in San Francisco
(inside UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital at Mission Bay)
2 Ronald McDonald Care Mobiles
(providing preventative dental care to children throughout the Bay Area)
Families staying at our Ronald McDonald Houses travel long distances to access their children's essential medical care and often stay far from home for extended periods. Although we ask for a nominal donation of $10 per night, no family is turned away due to inability to pay.
More than a place to stay, our Houses provide safe and supportive communities for famiies to rest, heal and thrive together. We believe in the simple idea that nothing else should matter when a child is sick and keeping families together is as powerful as the strongest medicine prescribed.
Our shared History
In 2018, three previously-affiliated local Ronald McDonald House entities - Ronald McDoanld House at Stanford, Ronald McDonald House of San Francisco, and Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Bay Area - came together to serve more families as a fully-integrated RMHC regional chapter, now RMHC Bay Area.
