Dear Friend of the House,
I am reaching out to share the exciting news that three local entities, Ronald McDonald House at Stanford, Ronald McDonald House of San Francisco and Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Bay Area, have merged into one organization to better support families with children receiving essential pediatric care at partner hospitals. Effective January 1, 2018, the combined entity is now known as Ronald McDonald House Charities Bay Area (RMHC Bay Area) and I am thrilled to continue serving our shared mission in a regional capacity as chief executive officer alongside our dedicated staff and board leadership that unites representatives from each organization.
Operating as one entity, RMHC Bay Area will sustain core programs through two Ronald McDonald Houses, including the 123 bedroom House at Stanford and the 11 bedroom House within UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital in San Francisco. Additional support will be available through two Ronald McDonald Care Mobiles offering pediatric dental care in Contra Costa and Santa Clara counties as well as continued in-hospital programs including family support dinners, hospitality carts, and day pass.
RMHC Bay Area will realize greater efficiencies overall and continue efforts to enhance programs and services that benefit families. As our important transition progresses, day-to-day operations at all program locations will remain consistent for our volunteers and the parents and children we serve.
Over the next few months, we will be working to combine business systems such as communications channels, websites, social media and other office technology. In the meantime, please stay informed and connected through your primary staff relationship, online, and our eNewsletter.
We look forward to this exciting transition and a future filled with opportunities to enrich and extend programs and services to families where the need is greatest.
Chief Executive Officer
